S&T Judges - Please Don't Make Me Beg!
We’ve had a great first week+ of swim team practice. It’s been fun seeing familiar faces reunite and meet new swimmers.
As you know, we will need all hands on deck for our meets but one area in particular that we need people to step up is for Stroke & Turn Judge. It’s not as scary as it sounds!! And the more people that are willing to judge means less time anyone has to stand on the pool deck in the hot sun on race mornings. Although the splashes can be a welcome job perk!
The league has two virtual training opportunities plus an in-person deck observation (optional) and/or you can watch these short training videos from USA Swimming. We feel that reviewing these videos is sufficient to judge our meets. Remember, we’re an easy-going team, not at the Olympic trials.
Stroke & Turn clinics 5/15 OR 5/21 from 7-8pm. Both are zoom meetings and anyone interested in attending one of these sessions need to RSVP Steve Mandacina at [email protected].
Deck observations 5/22 at 5:30pm at the Summerfield pool (2600 Fairfield Bend) during their time trials. Attendees need to RSVP Chris Evans at [email protected].
Please let us know if you’re willing to be a judge this season, even if your swimmer is not able to attend every meet. Your participation helps your swimmer and the team.
